Home / Conjunct News / Featured Volunteer of the Month – April 2017 – Benjamin Oh

The volunteers at Conjunct are truly the spirit and the lifeblood of the organisation. In the last five years, we have worked with close to 1000 volunteers, both student and professional, to strengthen the social good organisations in Singapore. It is heartening for us to see the effort people make to give back to the society and we feel blessed to be a driving force for volunteers to be associated with. This section on featured volunteer is simply an effort to celebrate some of these rockstars!

Benjamin Oh – Featured Volunteer of the month – April’17

Benjamin Oh (or Ben as we call him at Conjunct!) joined us as a volunteer in 2016. He started off a Project Scoper helping us understand the needs of the social good organisations and he has also worked as a Project Advisor in the same time. In the last year, Ben has been a great addition to the Partners Crew at Conjunct. He is known to always go the extra mile to ensure a job well done. His creative approach, his problem solving skills and his commitment to Conjunct is greatly admired. We sure are extremely lucky to have a talented volunteer like Ben!

Outside of volunteering with Conjunct what is the work you do?

I am a Rig Projects Manager for Teras Offshore, subsidiary of Ezion Holdings a listed company in Singapore. I am responsible for asset management, commercial and business development activities.

Tell us a little bit about your journey with Conjunct:

My journey started off brilliantly with Conjunct, being able to meet like-minded volunteers both professionals and students. Engaging with the partners and non-profit organizations and the people behind them was very rewarding and insightful. It truly motivates you to give your utmost to the project and their cause.

What is the one thing you LOVE about Conjunct:

The one thing I LOVE about Conjunct is it provides me with the platform to socially impact organisations. This in turn provides me with the knowledge that an hour spent working on a project or with our partners means I can socially impact change in a positive manner and that will impact on many individuals in years to come. The many projects that Conjunct does allows for a continuous impact.

A little bit about yourself:

My interests revolve around travel and experiencing new cultures and experiences. Currently my focus is more on cities as I love the hustle and bustle of cities on different continents and regions. But as age slowly and surely catches us all, hopefully my traveling experience will extend to aspects of a more relaxing nature. In addition, as a young father of 2 beautiful young children and husband to loving wife, family is of great importance to me. We sometimes take for granted the people around us, but I endeavor to spend as much of my free time planning activities for the family.

Message to other fellow volunteers:

To always continue to strive for success in our endeavours with Conjunct, lean on one another to share the workload and stay positive always in the face of adversity.

Thank you, Ben for your optimism, energy and the dedicated you bring to Conjunct. We are so glad to have you as a part of our team! If you would like to connect with Benjamin, his LinkedIn profile is: https://www.linkedin.com/in/benjaminoh/
